Paul O'Grady also said to be in talks to join Britain's Got Talent

Sharon Osbourne is being lined-up to take over from Piers Morgan on Britain’s Got Talent.

The 45-year-old has quit the ITV programme to work on his new CNN show, which launches in January.

Now boss Simon Cowell, 51, is said to have asked Sharon, 58, to replace Piers after seeing how well she’s done as a judge on America’s Got Talent.

‘He has always loved Sharon,’ says a source. ‘She has proved she is popular on the US version of BGT…She really wants to do it.’

Simon is also reportedly keen on getting Paul O’Grady, 55, to stand in for him during the Britain’s Got Talent audition stages.

The music mogul wants to concentrate on launching The X Factor in the States next year, so he will only be able to judge the live finals.

The new series of Britain’s Got Talent starts in April 2011.
