The X Factor judge doesn’t rate comedian’s recording as Geraldine McQueen

Simon Cowell has launched a scathing attack on Peter Kay, claiming his new single is ‘stupid’.

The X Factor judge, 49, hit out at the comedian after Peter‘s song as reality TV spoof character Geraldine McQueen beat former X Factor winner Leon Jackson in the charts.

I thought the show was clever, but the record was stupid, he tells The Mirror. ‘The single is a pathetic waste of time.

Peter, 35, released The Winner’s Song after featuring it on his show Britains Got The Pop Factor And Possibly A New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly On Ice.

He has also recorded a charity Christmas song with Gary Barlow which is set to battle this years X Factor winner for the coveted No1 spot.

He’s going to bring out a Christmas single? Simon adds. I dont feel threatened in the slightest.

Ive got something in mind for our Christmas single and I know which one I would put my money on.
