Presenter is more emotional since twins were born
Paddy McGuinness has noticed a definite change in his character since becoming a father.
The Take Me Out host – who welcomed twins Leo and Penelope with wife Christine Martin in July 2013 – has become so sensitive that even kids’ movies choke him up.
‘I can’t watch cartoon films as there’s always a sad bit,’ says Paddy, 40.
‘I tried to watch Up, but 15 minutes in I said to Christine, “I can’t cope.”‘
Paddy’s gentle nature also applies to his parenting technique, which is at odds with 25-year-old Christine’s tough approach.
‘When it comes to looking after the kids, it’s good cop/bad cop in our house,’ the presenter tells TV Magazine.
‘Christine gets them in a strict routine and I’m the soft touch.’
