Tamera doesn't want her father to show up now she's on TV
Tamera, 16, last got a visit from her dad when she was a toddler and has been brought up by her mum Rachel, along with siblings Regan, 13, and Keira, 11, who are both mildly autistic.
‘I don’t know my dad. I met him on my first birthday and he left me a dress, a teddy bear and a pair of gold earrings. I never saw him again,’ says Tamera.
‘My mum was 16 when she had me and he was young as well. He was there for the whole pregnancy but after I was born he started not to show up.’
Tamera – who’s being mentored by Nicole Scherzinger – wowed the judges with her rendition of Chaka Khan‘s Ain’t Nobody on Saturday night.
She describes her family as her ‘motivation’ and wants to treat them if she’s successful on the show – but she’s worried her dad may try to get in contact with her now she’s on television.
‘I think it might happen. I don’t think I’d want to talk to him. He has had the chance to fix up his game,’ Tamera tells The Sun.
‘If he didn’t care to do that then or for the last 16 years then what’s his business in coming back now?’
