As her wedding plans hot up, the Daybreak star worries her love life is jinxed
The Daybreak presenter has even told friends: It has to be third time lucky for me with Frank.’
Christine’s former engagements fizzled out due to her workload, but she’s determined not to miss out on marriage again.
She’s dreamt about a big white wedding and she isn’t sure she could go through it all again if it went wrong,’ says a close friend.
Christine first got engaged to Dublin-based millionaire Christian Stokes, who she met in December 2003.
After nine months he proposed on a romantic break in Denmark.
At the time, Christine said: I couldn’t be happier. I think we’ll get married in Dublin.’
Sadly, the relationship ended in 2005 due to her work schedule with BBC Northern Ireland.
Soon after, she fell in love with nightclub entrepreneur Mark Beirne and they were secretly engaged.
In June 2007 Christine moved to London to work on The One Show and the distance took its toll.
The couple split in 2008 while she was competing on Strictly Come Dancing.
Obviously, she was devastated when both relationships broke down, but she had her career to fall back on,’ says the pal.
Now, with rumours that Daybreak may be axed, her priorities have changed.
‘She and Frank have been checking out wedding venues in Northern Ireland and, after getting close to his daughters Luna [five] and Isla [three], she feels that becoming his wife would give her the perfect family, regardless of her career.’
