X Factor twins perform first single

John and Edward Grimes debuted their new single at last night’s National TV Awards – with a little help from Vanilla Ice.

The rapper, real name Robert Matthew Van Winkle, joined The X Factor twins on stage for their cover of Queen track Under Pressure and his hit Ice Ice Baby.

‘I didn’t know much about them up ’til a couple of weeks ago,’ Vanilla said backstage. ‘I checked them out on YouTube. I was like, “No way!”

‘After I got over the laughter they invited me over and it was a huge compliment. They are at the cutting edge.’

X Factor winner Joe McElderry, 18, opened the show with a cover of Journey‘s Don’t Stop Believin’.

The series was later named Best Talent Show and Simon Cowell, 50, couldn’t resist showing off his Hollywood smile as he collected the trophy.

‘I would like to dedicate this to my dentist,’ he said.

Jedward, 18, release Under Pressure, featuring Vanilla‘s vocals, for download on 31 January.

It will be available to buy in shops on 15 February.
