The A-list can't get enough of new TV show Lip Sync Battle...

Emma Stone rapping? Joseph Gordon Levitt on his knees? Anne Hathaway swinging on a wrecking ball?

Welcome to the crazy world of Lip Sync Battle – the must-see miming show every A-lister wants to be on!

Created by actor John Krasinski with wife Emily Blunt along with their friend Stephen Merchant (you know, the lanky bloke from Extras), they introduced Lip Sync Battle to Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon, who then incorporated it as a sketch on his chat show.

It became so popular, Jimmy and John created the spin off show to pit celebs head to head to see who can mime with the most authenticity.

Enter LL Cool J and co-host model Chrissy Teigan (John Legend‘s wife) who host the amazing show.

What started out as guests stepping up to a mic and miming along to one of their favourite tracks has turned into a phenomenon.

‘The glory of it [is] because people are egotistical,’ Chrissy says. ‘They take this seriously. They come to win, and they’re hurt when they lose. They’re kind of emotional when they win. It’s very cool, I love to see it.’

So far they’ve had Justin Bieber covering Ozzy Osbourne, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson doing Taylor Swift‘s Shake It Off and John Legend in full on MC Hammer outfit lip synching to Can’t Touch This. Pitch Perfect actress Anna Kendrick even got Jennifer Lopez to join in her act.

And Chrissy has some advice for the A-listers taking part in the show.

‘Don’t forget that it is all about lip-synching,’ she says. ‘A lot of people don’t do the lip movements enough, and sometimes they get so into the performance and the dancing that they forget the talent that goes with matching those words. Especially if they’re doing a crazy rap. So as cool as it is to see them dance around, you’ve gotta bring the lips. Also, you can ask for anything you want, and I think some celebrities were really thrown off by that-they’d be like, “Wait, I didn’t know we could have a wrecking ball!” Or “I didn’t know we could have a marching band!” ‘Cause in the second round, anything goes.’

The most famous act so far has been Anne Hathaway, 32, who recreates Miley Cyrus‘ Wrecking Ball video, complete with white outfit, swinging on a giant ball across the studio and flipping the middle finger to her competition, Devil Wears Prada co-star Emily Blunt, who had covered Janis Joplin!

Now we just want to see Madonna lip synch Def Leppard‘s Pour Some Sugar On Me, Britney do James Blunt‘s You’re Beautiful and Orlando Bloom mime Tiffany‘s I Think We’re Alone Now!

Premieres on Spike, Wednesday 15 April at 9.30pm
