X Factor finalist Katie Waissel fed up of tabloid stories about her
The singer has been accused of playing up to the cameras by some tabloids.
‘I’m not an actress. I’m not being paid to play a villain role. I’m just a girl that wants to go and sing,’ explains Katie, 24.
‘Why would people think I was ungenuine? I’ll always be true to myself and stand up for what I believe in.’
Katie hopes to win over her critics by delivering strong performances on the show.
‘People underestimate the power of the press. It’s powerful. Everyone’s talking about something. It just means I have to work extra hard to prove myself,’ she tells X Magazine.
‘The truth always prevails in the end, and I’m trying to get my side of the truth out. I want to put my head down and enjoy myself.’
