X Factor champ Matt Cardle overjoyed after topping singles chart
The painter/decorator sold 439,007 copies of his cover of Biffy Clyro‘s Many Of Horror.
The figure makes it the fasting-selling non-charity single of the year.
‘I can’t believe it,’ says Matt, 27. ‘As if winning wasn’t enough.
‘I honestly didn’t think I’d even make it on to the live shows, let alone win and be the Christmas No 1. I can’t even begin to describe how it feels.
‘It’s nuts, crackers and crazy.’
Take That have the Christmas No 1 album after Progress sold an extra 330,000 copies to stay top of the chart.
